DSIP Nasal Spray

$60.00

DSIP stands for Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide, and it’s a naturally occurring neuropeptide first identified in the 1970s and studied for its role in sleep regulation, stress signalling, and circadian rhythms.  DSIP is made up of nine amino acids that have an apparent connection to slow-wave sleep patterns, rather than producing strong sedative effects.

In research settings, DSIP is researched for:

  • Slow Wave Sleep Activity: DSIP is studied for its potential to increase or stabilize delta brain waves, which are linked to deep, restorative stages of sleep
  • Regulating Stress: Researchers explore whether DSIP influences how the brain and hormones respond to stress, particularly systems that can interfere with sleep quality.

Our 10 mL research solution contains 5 mg of total Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide, formulated as a nasal spray for experimental use. Each bottle delivers approximately 80 sprays for controlled measurements in research workflows.

What is DSIP?

Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide is a short neuropeptide originally isolated from cerebral venous blood during an experimentally induced slow-wave sleep. Unlike many compounds that depress the nervous system to affect sleep, DSIP takes a more targeted approach by influencing delta-wave activity, which is linked to restorative sleep.

Research Related to Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide

In research settings, DSIP is studied for its potential interactions with central nervous system signaling pathways involved in sleep regulation and stress adaptation. This product is intended for laboratory research and analytical purposes only.

Deep (Slow-Wave) Sleep Regulation

Researchers wanted to see whether DSIP plays a role in deep sleep and growth hormone release. To test this, they kept rats awake for four hours and then let them sleep again. After the sleep deprivation, the rats showed more deep (slow-wave) sleep and higher growth hormone levels than normal.

When researchers blocked DSIP in the brain, these increases did not happen — even though the rats were still sleep-deprived. This suggests that DSIP is likely one of the signals the brain uses to trigger deep sleep and growth hormone release after sleep loss [1].

Stress Hormone Regulation

Research suggests that DSIP interacts with multiple neurochemical systems involved in sleep regulation, stress responses, and pain signaling. DSIP may influence how the brain manages stress and calming signals, affect the brain’s chemical messengers, and play a role in daily body rhythms such as movement, hormone release, and stress levels [2].
