Description
This combined intranasal research solution carries two synthetic heptapeptides developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Selank, a tuftsin analog (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg with an added Pro-Gly-Pro sequence) studied for anxiolytic and immunomodulatory activity, and Semax, an ACTH(4-10) analog (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) studied for nootropic and neuroprotective properties. Each bottle contains 15mg of each peptide (30mg total) in 10mL, delivering 80 metered sprays. For research use only.
Research Background
The two peptides have distinct, separately published research literatures. Selank has been studied in preclinical models for effects on GABA receptor expression, monoamine neurotransmitter levels, BDNF expression, and tuftsin-derived immunomodulation. Semax has been investigated for effects on brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression, cognitive function, and neuroprotection against oxidative stress and ischemia, acting through melanocortin-mediated pathways without steroidogenic effects. Published work examines each compound individually; the combination itself has no dedicated clinical literature.
